Vision

We envision a more sustainable AEGEE, actively contributing to international and European policy processes, and cooperating with youth initiatives around the world.

Mission

We aim to introduce the themes and process of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development into AEGEE, and build a strong and representative AEGEE delegation for Rio+20.

Objectives

We have 4 objectives in order to work towards this mission:

1.      To raise awareness in the AEGEE network, on Rio+20 and sustainable development

2.      To assure a constructive presence at Rio+20, through capacity-building for the delegation

3.      To compile a mandate from the network for the AEGEE delegation towards Rio+20

4.      To organise Rotterdam+20, a simulation of Rio+20 by and for students

Activities

In order to achieve these objectives, we are organising a range of activities and events:

1.      Kick-off workshop on Rio+20 at EBM Izmir (11th February 2012)

2.      Online information and awareness campaign (mid-March – end May 2012)

3.      Topical workshops on sustainable development at Agora Enschede (2-6th May 2012)

4.      Webinar on Rio+20 and Rotterdam+20 (early May 2012)

5.      Main event with trainings, discussions, and a simulation of Rio+20 (late May 2012)

6.      Putting training into practice at the Rio+20 summit (20-22nd June 2012)
